GPAC’s Graduate Student Government (GSG) Senator is elected in the spring and is one of three senators dedicated to the Price School. The GSG Senator serves as the primary liaison with the Graduate Student Government, the student government organization for all USC graduates students. The GSG Senator helps expand and strengthen GPAC’s presence in GSG and the broader USC graduate student community.
Edgar Ortiz is a second year MPP candidate who is excited to serve the Price community in his role as the GPAC GSG Senator for 2016-2017. He earned his B.A. in political science from the University of La Verne in 2015. Currently, divides his work between USC Good Neighbors and the Tomas Rivera Policy Institute (TRPI). His primary policy interests include international policy and social justice, while also having experience studying and working in energy policy and budget/finance related work. Edgar is also involved with other organizations on campus, and hopes that he can help foster new connections between individuals/groups at Price and other schools in his role with GPAC. In his free time, Edgar enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with friends/family.
