Benjamin Robinson, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, is a second-year Master of Public Policy student at the USC Price School of Public Policy. From his undergraduate career at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received a B.A. in Economics and Urban Studies, to his time at USC, Benjamin has held a deep interest in policy analysis, research, and quantitative approaches to analyzing urban areas and policies. This is part of why he is so excited to be at the Price School and at USC: a strong commitment exists here to studying urban issues and working to promote effective policies that improve quality of life, with Los Angeles as our laboratory.
Kele Song was born in China and grew up in a small town in southeast China. She went to Tsinghua University where she earned a bachelor degree in journalism and communication. She worked for Xinhua News Agency, Thomson Reuters and Edelman Public Relations before joining the Trojan family. She is now a master’s degree candidate in Public Policy with a concentration in international development policy. She loves hiking and traveling.
Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Alex first moved to Los Angeles to study Sociology at UCLA. Upon completing his B.A. in 2009, Alex worked in a variety of fields, including documentary filmmaking, special education, local government, and nonprofit service provision. He is now a 2nd year MPP and conducts research for PPIC and the USC School of Social Work. Eventually, he would like to pursue a PhD in international/community development. Alex enjoys soccer, playing the guitar, and an occasional friendly game of chess.
Katherine is a second-year MPP with interests in the environment and working in government. She did her undergrad at UC San Diego in economics and environmental policy. Her hobbies include traveling, online shopping, baking, HBO shows, and corgis. She currently resides in the San Gabriel Valley.
Brianna Pierce, originally from San Luis Obispo, California, is currently a second year Master of Public Policy student. Prior to attending USC, Brianna earned a Bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley in Psychology with a minor in Global Poverty and Practice. Brianna hopes to pursue a career in the field of social and economic international development, and is particularly interested in issues of social justice. In her free time, Brianna hikes, looks at pictures of dogs, and watches Boardwalk Empire.
